Follow these 8 tips from Ukulele Instructor Lindsay Müller to improve QUICKLY on ukulele:

1. Play as frequently as possible (at least once a day. Multiple times a day is excellent) This strengthens your fingers and helps form muscle memory.
2. Practice sessions don’t have to be long. 5-20 minutes is great!
3. Keep your ukulele in an easily accessible spot so you are reminded to play it often!
4. Focus on having fun!
5. Don't expect yourself to sound perfect or as good as someone who's been playing for years
6. Smile and take deep breaths as you play
7. Speak to yourself positively rather than putting yourself down
8. If you need to take a break, that's fine, but get back to it as soon as possible! Your hand and finger muscles will thank you.
- Play stuff you genuinely like. And if something is too hard, loop back and check on your skills periodically, sometimes it looks awful, but a week or so later when you’ve added more chords, it’s doable. (Tiffany U)
- Don't be afraid to try a song with a new chord. It may be challenging at first but with repetition it will become easier and you have one more chord you can play. (Karen H)
- Join a local ukulele jam group - so much fun! (Hazel C)
